Why we invested
DLT Training is a successful, well-established company that has
been trading for more than 35 years.
The company has a reputation for providing high-quality
specialist industrial training, which is a growing market. DLT has
identified a number of new market opportunities.
The outcome
In 2006 an employee buy-out was put in
place. Finance Wales invested the first funding round when DLT
Training was referred by the Wales Co-Operative Centre.
DLT Training traded successfully under new management for three
years, during which time it repaid almost 50% of the original loan
but outgrew its premises. The company approached us for a second
investment round to fund relocation and refurbishment costs.
The company’s new premises provide warehousing, classroom and
office space and will enable DLT Training to expand further.
