Sunshine, beaches and great business
The summer holidays are nearly upon us and it’s high season for
Wales many tourism businesses. The tourism sector has a significant
impact on the Welsh economy and visitors to Wales spend £5.1
billion a year.
From shops and cafes, through to hotels and leisure resorts we
work with a wide variety of great Welsh companies. Here’s just a
few we’ve recently supported:
The Hours café and bookshop, Brecon
Brecon tourism award winners, The Hours, have expanded their
café and bookshop thanks to a microloan from us. The company have
taken over the adjoining premises – literally doubling the size of
this great Brecon landmark.
The Mount Rooms, Barry
The Mount Rooms is gearing up for its first summer season. A
great bijou hotel in the resort made famous by Gavin and Stacey, we
helped the new hotel renovate their premises with a six-figure
Carreg Adventure, Swansea
We supported husband and wife team Ceri
Butcher and Eoghan Powell with start-up costs for Carreg Adventure.
The pair renovated local landmark Stouthall, they now run camps,
educational groups and corporate team building events - all with an
adventure theme – as well as hosting weddings from their base on
the Gower Peninsula.
We’re able to help tourism businesses in a number of
ways, be that cash-flow lending, or money for renovation and
expansion. Our investment teams can tailor loans and equity deals
from £1,000 up to £3 million for your tourism business. Interested?
