Barry Island Pleasure Park regeneration

Finance Wales and Barclays have invested in the multi-million pound regeneration of Barry Island Pleasure Park.

Beth Cousins, Deputy Fund Manager at Finance Wales worked on the deal.  She said: “Barry Island Pleasure Park is a renowned tourist attraction which welcomed thousands of visitors in its heyday. Finance Wales is pleased to work with Henry Danter and Barclays to back this project.  Henry and his family have a strong heritage in the fairground industry and we’re confident that their passion and experience will put the Pleasure Park back on the map as one of Wales' most popular seaside destinations.  Reopening Barry Island Pleasure Park will be a major boost for the local economy in the Vale of Glamorgan.”
Sam Cole, Relationship Director at Barclays said: “We are delighted to support our long standing customer Henry Danter in his acquisition of Barry Island Pleasure Park through the provision of a commercial mortgage. Henry Danter and his family are well respected and have a long history in the fairground industry. Henry and his team will provide the required level of experience, contacts and finance to restore the Pleasure Park to its former glory. We wish Henry every success with his new venture.

“We have worked closely with Finance Wales to structure an appropriate finance package for the acquisition thereby ensuring a key Welsh tourist attraction is redeveloped for the future.”
