A record £37 million invested in Welsh businesses

2009-10 was a great year for Finance Wales. We smashed our target to invest a record £37 million in through 246 equity and debt investments. Could an investment from Finance Wales make 2010 a great year for you or your clients?

We can make a wide range of investments of up to £2 million per investment round and we’ve been actively investing in the first half of 2010 in a range of businesses at all stages.

Early-stage investment has been buoyant and we’ve seen an increasing number of software/IT, biotech, medtech and plastic electronics businesses coming to us with viable business plans.

We’ve also seen more established businesses thinking about expansion and particularly ‘buy-and-build’ expansion strategies.

The demand for follow-on investment from our portfolio businesses has also been strong.
