Successful exits see returns on our investments
Successful returns on our investments allow us to re-invest in
high-growth SMEs in Wales.
A number of our investments have resulted in successful exits,
including trade sales to listed companies. Two of
our portfolio companies have floated on the alternative
investment market (AIM).
Company acquisitions
Acquisitions bring immediate benefits for Finance Wales, other
investors and the businesses’ management team.
Accountis
We invested three rounds of commercial funding in Accountis,
totalling £50k. The software company was acquired by NASDAQ-listed
Fundtech in March 2008 in a deal worth £3.8m.
Alito
Our £400k equity investment supported Alito during its development.
By 2007 the company had established such strong IP that it was
acquired by AIM-listed Proactis in a deal worth £1.5m.
howies
howies was bought by clothing giant Timberland, following two
rounds of equity investment totalling £650k.
AIM listing
Two of our portfolio companies have realised the benefits of
trading on AIM.
Enfis
We supported Enfis from formation to flotation through three
investment rounds. In March 2007 the company floated on AIM. We
sold our entire shareholding with a 1.5x return.
Freshwater
We co-invested in Freshwater’s expansion and made a profitable
return when the company floated in July 2007.
